Two young software engineers drowned in a pond during a leisure trip in Idukki district on Wednesday evening.
Anwin C. Cheriyan, 27, of Thiruvalla and Sajan Babu, 25, Karunagapally were employees at Inforpark, Kochi.
The incident took place at a private resort at Nadukani, near Kulamavu. While playing football on the resort’s premises when the ball fell into the water.
The two, with the help of the of their friends, got into the water to get the ball, but lost balance and drowned in the 10-feet deep pond.
