Tamil Nadu is looking forward to receiving information regarding Dengue – mainly about outbreaks since the State health department has announced round-the-clock fever helplines. The numbers are: 044-24350496; 044-24334811; 9444340496; and 9361482899. People can call the helplines, besides 104 for additional information on dengue.
Private hospitals have been advised to follow the fever management protocol while treating patients, according to a release from the health department.
The government has also said action will be taken against pharmacies if they sell medicines without prescription. Action would be taken under Sections 83 and 84 of the TN Public Health Act and Indian Penal Code Section 269 against eateries which do not maintain sanitation and cleanliness.
