Sharjah Police honours Emirati woman for honesty….

Sharjah Police honoured an Emirati woman for handing them over a smart phone which she found in Austria, after learning it belonged to a person living in the Gulf who lost the handset during Vienna sojourn.

The woman didn’t stop at giving the phone to the cops, but insisted on locating its owner.

Col Ahmed Bin Darwish, director of central region police department, said that the Emirati woman became aware that the handset was of a person who lived in the region, possibly an Emirati. When she arrived in the UAE, she decided to go to the police to seek their help in identifying the owner. She handed over the handset to Al Dhaid comprehensive police station.

Col Bin Darwish added that the police officials carried out extensive search to trace the owner of the phone, which had a chip belonging to the Republic of Austria. During their search, the police found out that the phone belonged to another Emirati lady.

When told that her lost phone had been found, the lady who owned it was delighted. After she was given the device by the police, she thanked the cops as well as the woman who was instrumental in reaching it to its owner.
