Actress who felt reduced to “vagina “ after watching ‘Padmavat’ angrily reacts to the tweet of Vivek Agnihotri

A new Twitter war has broken between actor Swara Bhaskar and filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri after the former penned down an open letter criticising Sanjay Leela Bhansali for protrayal of women in Padmaavat as mere sex toys.

The actress loved the grand scheme of things in the movie, but felt “reduced to a vagina” after watching the movie. She felt that the practice of Jauhar was glorified in the movie and wanted at least one part or person to oppose it in Padmaavat. She spoke about freedom of speech and women empowerment too in the letter. And while the open letter has got mixed reactions, the actress has no regret. She stands by what she has written and so be it! But while she has got extreme reactions for her open letter and it didn’t matter to her, a certain filmmaker seems to have ticked her off.

Vivek Agnihotri wrote on Twitter, “We have interviewed many ex-naxal women in Bastar. Each has gut-wrenching stories to tell, full of abuse, rape and misogyny If they marry, they aren t allowed to have children. I think fake feminist @ReallySwara must make a trip to understand how the Real Vagina feels like. What women need to understand that it s because of the fake feminists like @ReallySwara that the feminist movement gets jeopardised. You just can t piss off people and win the most critical war of modern times – the gender empathy. Swara was shocked after reading what the filmmaker had to write and genuinely, so were we! The actress quickly responded and asked him a very valid question.

Swara wrote on Twitter, “I m sorry did u just suggest that i go get myself raped? Like seriously? You typed out this tweet Vivek.? I d say pretty low and sick even by your own abysmal standards of conduct & civility. Vivek Agnihotri hit back saying, “Why is it that whenever we talk about empathy and understanding, fake feminists like @ReallySwara can only think of rape? You can say whatever you want, they end up translating it only with their sexually perverted dictionary.
