In a funny episode reported from Nagapattinam, temple priest expelled from his position after decorating idol with churidar.
The temple officials suspend the priest from his position after his doing cross the limit. The idol in the Mayooranath Swamy Temple here in Mayiladumthurai was given a modern outfit by the priest.
Devotees considered this temple equivalent to Kasi Temple. When the temple opened for morning prayers the devotes shocked by seeing this new modification.

Goddess Churidar, composed of a magnificent combination of glitter and magenta and a blue shawl was also accompanied. The priest named Raja Guru did this as a part of the Sandal Puja. Kalyana Sundaram Guru, his father is also a famous Pujari in the temple.
After the pictures went viral online both of the priests were expelled from the temple.
