Here’s the list of fastest bikes in the World : See Pics

Bikes traditionally scored over their four-wheeled counterparts for having a phenomenal power to weight ratio. This allowed them to out-accelerate the supercars even though they lacked the punch in the top speed. Over the last decade, though, the cars have closed the gap, and now in many cases accelerate even faster than the superbikes. Nonetheless, an experience on a superbike or in a supercar is different and has a charm of its own.

1. Dodge Tomahawk

The current number one position is held by a concept bike coming from the Dodge stable. Its enormous engine and power will put a road car to shame. The Tomahawk is a concept and the buyers, whoever they are, cannot ride it, strictly. Dodge can sell the bike only and they have no permission to sell the transmission for the bike. It is a bike that has a close resemblance to Batman’s mobike and owners would be happy that it does not need a stand nor do they have to balance it on their limbs when in standstill. To do that even Batman would have wished he was Superman. Have a look.

  • Top Speed: 298.14 mph (480 km/hr) [Estimated]
  • Engine: 1275 cc
  • HP: 500 hp
  • Torque: 712 N-m
  • Price: US $ 550,000
  • Acceleration: Not Available

2. Kawasaki Ninja H2R

Here comes the bike that made me change my ranking in 2018, the first time since I made the original list. The H2R created a record of reaching 400 kmph in 26 seconds and was handled by none other than the reigning World SSP champion, Sofuoglu. In doing so, it trumps the other production motorcycles out there and draws parallel with the MTT Streetfighter.

  • Top Speed: 248.45 mph (400 km/hr)
  • Engine: Supercharged 998 cc, in-line 4 DOHC
  • HP: 310 hp
  • Torque: 156 N-m
  • Price: US $ 50,000
  • Acceleration: 0-60 in 2 sec

MTT Streetfighter

Until the H2R created the new record, this superbike came in at number two and actually still holds the spot equaling the H2R. The Streetfighter is a version of the MTT Turbine Superbike, from the Rolls Royce stable. The point to note is that while the H2R could do just one such speed run, under a controlled environment (5 a.m. run, a special suit, etc.), to create the record, the MTT can do it as many times as required, partly due to its jet lineage. I mean, look at the horsepower and torque numbers, and you will see my point.

  • Top Speed: 248.45 mph (400 km/hr)
  • Engine: 249 cc, Gas Turbine
  • HP: 420 hp
  • Torque: 678 N-m
  • Price: US $ 175,000
  • Acceleration: Not Available

3. MTT Turbine Superbike

The original version from the Rolls Royce stable, the MTT Turbine sports an engine which was earlier powering jets.

  • Top Speed: 230 mph (370.3 km/hr)
  • Engine: 249 cc, Gas Turbine
  • HP: 320 hp
  • Torque: 578 N-m
  • Price: US $ 200,000
  • Acceleration: Not Available

4. BMW S1000RR

The BMW S1000RR had toppled the Suzuki Hayabusa to take its spot in 2013. However, there was a minor edit in 2014 when the bike did a faster run of 208 mph; bettering the 201 mph record earlier. This was due to Valerie Thompson’s speed run at Bonneville Salt Flats. Barring that, every other parameter remains the same.

  • Top Speed: 208.81 mph (336 km/hr)
  • Engine: 999 cc, in-line 4, 4 stroke engine
  • HP: 193 hp
  • Torque: 112 N-m
  • Price: US $ 14,000
  • Acceleration: 0-60 in 2.4 sec

5. Suzuki Hayabusa

The erstwhile number one bike is last on this list. Hayabusa means “Falcon” in Japanese, which preyed on the black birds. This naming was also a pot shot at the Honda’s black bird series which were the fastest bike till the time the Hayabusa came in. Though last at the moment, don’t write it off yet.

  • Top Speed: 198.76 mph (320 km/hr)
  • Engine: 1340 cc, in-line 4, 4 stroke engine
  • HP: 162 hp
  • Torque: 135 N-m
  • Price: US $ 13,500
  • Acceleration: 0-60 in 2.6 seconds
