HMD Global launches Nokaia X6 : Price and Specifications

HMD Global just launched the Nokia X6 in the Chinese market at a launch event on May 16, 2018. Just hours after the launch, rumors about the next Nokia-branded X-series devices have started surfacing on the internet. According to a report by Nokia Power User, HMD Global may be planning to launch two more X-series devices in the global market, the X5 and the X7. It points out that Nokia X6 is likely to be a China exclusive.

The report speculates that HMD Global may have opted to emulate old Nokia’s strategy of launching devices under the N-series, X-series and the C-series. X-series is supposed to be better than the normal, mainstream device lineup and similar to that the X6 packs a better processor, improved design and dual camera setup on the back when compared to the regular Nokia 6 lineup. HMD Global has not issued any official statement about the rumors about the more X-series devices.

Nokia X6 price

Nokia X6 starts at CNY 1,299 (Rs 13,800 approximately) for the base variant with 4GB?RAM plus 32GB storage. The mid variant with 4GB?RAM plus 64GB?storage will retail at CNY 1,499 (Rs 16,000 approximately). The top model with 6GB?RAM plus 64GB?storage carries a price tag of CNY 1,699 (Rs 18,100 approximately).

Nokia X6 specifications

Nokia X6 features a 5.8-inch full HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio, and a 2.5D curved glass. Under the hood of the smartphone runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor. For photography, Nokia X6 sports a dual-camera setup at the rear which is a combination of 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. Up front, it houses a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture.

Connectivity options on the Nokia X6 include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C port, and FM Radio. The smartphone is fuelled by a 3,060mAh battery along with support for fast charge. On the software front, it runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. The smartphone will also be upgraded to the upcoming Android P OS.
