Mahindra XUV700 (Y400) Revealed in India. Know All About It Here

Mahindra officially revealed their latest flagship, the Y400, at the annual general meeting. Y400 is the internal codename used for the SUV and is expected to be launched by the name of XUV700.

The Mahindra XUV700 is expected to draw power from a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces 187bhp and 420Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The flagship SUV from Mahindra will take on the Toyota Fortuner SUV in the country.

Speaking about the Mahindra XUV700, it is a full-sized SUV which is a rebadged version of the G4 SsangYong Rexton. It is a 7 seater model which could be called Mahindra Rexton or Mahindra XUV700. Showcased in production guise at the AGM today, the new SUV gets a chrome slat front grille, new headlamp design and LED DRLs. It gets the same bumpers as seen on the Rexton with similar looking tail lamps and sporty looking new alloy wheels.

The interior will have a premium build quality and will offer a long list of features. The dashboard is likely to get soft-touch plastics while the seats will come with leather upholstery. The SUV will also offer an electric sunroof, a touchscreen infotainment unit that will offer Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ABS with EBD, electric parking brake, a full quota of 9 airbags, hill descent control, active rollover protection and rear AC. As for safety, you get nine airbags, ABS, electronic brakeforce distribution, traction control, hill descent control, electronic stability control and advanced emergency braking.

The XUV700 will go up against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour in terms of competition and is expected to be in the price range of Rs 20-25 lakh.
