New Delhi ; The Delhi Police has arrested a man for pretending as a female model on Instagram and exploiting women in the guise of providing jobs.As per the reports, the accused, Mam Chand alias Deepak, used to claim that he was associated with a production house, and was looking for new models for an upcoming web series.
A complainant stated that a woman named Rashi Goel contacted her on Instagram and introduced herself as a model. The accused told Priya that “she” was looking for new models for an upcoming web series, and asked whether “she was comfortable with sharing her nude photographs for auditions”.The 17-year-old complainant sent her nude photographs to Rashi Goel, who continued to ask for more. She declined to share more photos and blocked the accused on Instagram.Later, two persons contacted Priya on Instagram and threatened they would post her nude photos on social media platforms. The complainant was harassed for a long time, and in several ways.
During investigation, the police found out the cellphone number of the accused, zeroed in on his location, and apprehended him from his residence in Sultanpuri.Earlier, the accused was arrested in a criminal case in Haryana’s Hisar, the police said. Further probe in the case is underway.
