54 people, including three Malayalis, received Padma Awards from the President

On Wednesday, President Droupadi Murmu presented the Padma awards to notable individuals and unsung heroes, including three Malayalis.

On the eve of this year’s Republic Day, the President gave his approval for the presentation of 106 Padma awards, including three pair instances (in a duo case, the award is counted as one). Several honors were given posthumously.

Gandhian VP Appukutta Poduval, agronomist Cheruvayal Raman, Kalari gurukkal SRD Prasad, and historian CI Issac were among the Padma Shri recipients.

A total of 54 awards were given out at the investiture event held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday, and Gandhian Poduval, Prasad, and Raman were seen accepting their medals from the President.

The honor would be given to the remaining recipients in a subsequent event.
