IPL 2017 : RCB Beat Gujarat by 21 Runs, Gayle scored 10,000 Runs in T20 Cricket

Brendon McCullum’s 72 didn’t turn out to be enough in Gujarat Lions’ 214-run chase as Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Gujarat Lions by 21 runs, with Yuzvendra Chahal finishing with figures of 3/31, in their 2017 Indian Premier League clash at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot. Earlier, Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli scored 77 and 64, respectively, as RCB posted a total of 213/2.

RCB 213/2 (20.0 Ovs)
GL 192/7 (20.0 Ovs)

Gayle first man to score 10,000 runs in T20 cricket. RCB’s Gayle scripted yet another chapter in the cricketing record books as he became the first player to score 10,000 runs in the shortest format of the game. Gayle has played 290 T20 games so far in his career. The big-hitting West Indian, who needed three runs to reach the milestone, achieved the feat when he steered a single to third man during the fourth over. Gayle, 37, is already the leading run-getter in T20s and the owner of a host of records in the format: the most centuries (18) and fifties (61), highest individual score (175* for RCB in the IPL), joint fastest fifty (off 12 balls for Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League), most sixes (743) and fours (769).
