‘Mid-Summer’ offer : Vistara Announces fares below Rs 999

Vistara, a joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines has announced ‘Mid-summer’ sale offering tickets as low as Rs. 999 on select domestic routes.

The Rs. 999 Vistara sale is valid on Jammu-Srinagar and Guwahati-Bagdogra routes, the airline said in a release. Booking under the Vistara sale starts today and is open until May 20 for a travel period between June 12, 2017, and February 20 next year, it added.

Delhi-Chandigarh (Rs. 1,499), Delhi-Lucknow (Rs. 1,549) and Delhi-Amritsar (Rs. 1,699) are a few other routes that can be availed under the Vistara offer. However, the airline did not disclose the number of seats allocated under the offer.

The all-inclusive fare under the Rs. 999 Vistara offer is applicable only on economy class travel. And the Rs. 2,099 offer can be availed in Premium economy. The first-come-first-served offer is valid on direct flights.

Discounted fares under this are non-refundable and not applicable on group and Infant bookings. In case the seats under this offer are sold out, regular fares will appear, the airline stated on its website.

Vistara had recently slashed its business class fares by a flat 50 percent under ‘Affordable Luxury’ sale.

This offer comes days after the budget carriers like GoAir, Spice Jet, Indigo and Air Asia India have announced special fares starting Rs. 599, Rs. 849, Rs. 899 and Rs. 1,031 respectively.

India’s aviation sector has witnessed a spurt of growth in the past few years and discounted fares from airlines have been one of the reasons behind strong growth seen in domestic air travel.
