5 seeds that is superfoods, but you just don’t know

We generally throw away the seeds without realising how important they can be for our health. Yes, seeds of few fruits and flowers can be super foods too.

Pumpkin seeds

You can boil the seeds for 5-10 minutes, drain the water and toss them in little oil and salt when dry. They contain MUFA and omega 6 fats. It is also a rich in Vitamin E, B complex vitamins and minerals such as manganese, copper, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc and selenium.

Papaya seeds

These seeds are a good source of calcium, magnesium and phosphorus. It has a strong antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect on the digestive system too. These seeds can be eaten as a whole or you can mix them in honey too to beat its bitter taste.

Flax seeds

Flax seeds are very rich in omega 3 fats. They contain fibre, vitamin B1 and minerals like copper, magnesium and selenium. You can roast them, powder to put them in the soup of dal, there are numerous ways one can consume flax seeds.

Watermelon seeds

Instead of throwing the seeds away, make them sprouted, dried and shelled. It contains omega-6 fats. They are a good source of B-complex vitamins and minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, iron, potassium and copper!

Chia seeds

Chia seeds are a good source of omega 3 fats along with minerals such as iron and calcium. The best way to consume them is to soak them overnight in half cup water and have it as the first thing in the morning.
