Intex launches Turbo+ 4G VoLTE phone in India

Intex has launched the new Turbo+ 4G feature phone in India a part of the special Navratna series.

The 4G feature phone is a first in the series for Intex that comes with 4G VoLTE connectivity. Priced at Rs 1,999, it comes with all the benefits of 4G and HD voice calling feature.

The phone will go on sale around the end of the month, though no specific date has been mentioned by Intex yet.

In terms of features, considering the phone is a basic feature phone, it comes with certain restrictions. However, it is one of the initial 4G VoLTE feature phones to be announced in India.

The Indian market still continues to rely heavily on feature phones and despite the push for smartphones with 4G connectivity, the adoption is far less. 4G feature phones are considered to be a bridge between the feature phone market and modern 4G smartphones, giving the customers to try some of the 4G features without having to completely move to a smartphone.

Apart from the Turbo+4G, the Navratna series by Intex includes eight other 2G feature phones priced between Rs 700 and Rs 1,500

Specifications

Intex Turbo+ 4G runs the KaiOS, which is a forked version of Firefox OS. The feature phone comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display. The device is powered by a dual-core chipset coupled with 512MB RAM.

The internal storage is 4GB, further expandable to 32GB. The feature phone comes with a 2-megapixel camera on the rear of the device and VGA front camera for selfies. The phone supports video-calling over 4G connectivity. The device comes with a 2,000mAh battery.
