Calf born with ‘human face’ hailed as incarnation of Lord Vishnu !

The people of Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh have deified a calf born with ‘human features’ hailing it as Hindu Lord Vishnu’s avatar.

The calf, born in an animal shelter, has eyes, nose and ears similar to humans.

Unfortunately, the calf died within a few hours of its birth. However, the news of the offspring spread like wildfire and people from the surrounding villages made a beeline for the calf’s birthplace to pay respects and seek blessings.

The calf, kept inside a glass box, is suspposedly ‘Gokaran’, one of the 24 incarnations of Lord Vishnu.

Mahesh Kathuria, a local businessman said, “God has taken birth from the body of a local cow. We came here to seek his blessings. Religiously, it is an avatar of Lord Vishnu”.

“We believe it is a similar character mentioned in the ‘Bhagavata Puran’, a Hindu religious text,” he added.

Plans are now being put in place to build a temple for the calf. However, the Veterinary Doctors attributed underdeveloped genes for the abnormal features.

Dr. Ajay Deshmukh, Senior Veterinary Doctor, at Wildlife SOS, in India, said, “This is a case of an anatomical anomaly. If a gene didn’t develop properly or there was a fault, it causes multiple structural deformities, and such anomalies happen. It has got only scientific reasons and explanations, instead of superstitions.”
