Ever present India-Pakistan verbal battle continues, no new developments

India-Pakistan’s verbal battle over Kashmir still continues. The new turns might not come as a surprise to most, and some may even agree to it.

Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Gulam Nabi Azad today said that Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) is part of India and the Congress Party has its clear stand on this issue.

Refuting the earlier comments of the National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah’s controversial remarks of PoK belonging to Pakistan and Jammu Kashmir belonging to India, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha and former Chief Minister of J&K Ghulam Nabi Azad today said “Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) is a part of Jammu and Kashmir, which is an integral part of India and should remain that”.

“Each political party, be it the BJP or the RSS, has its own thinking and other political parties have their own thinking. As far as my party is concerned, I would like to say that PoK was a part of J&K and should remain with it. And J&K is an integral part of India,” said Azad.

A video has gone viral on the social media showing a Congress worker being held at gunpoint by terrorists, who are making him take a pledge that he would not work with any political party in future.

Azad commented on the video, “ It is very unfortunate that political workers are being targeted by militants and they are being killed even by workers of other political parties.”

“It is happening in Kashmir. It is happening in Kerala and in Rajasthan. So the atmosphere across the country is very bad. It is most unfortunate. I condemn it,” he said.
