Kerala Budget 2018 : This will be common man’s budget, says Thomas Issac
Finance Minister Thomas Issac will present the LDF government’s state budget today. Kerala Budget 2018 comes at a critical time, given that the state has been reeling under a severe financial crisis and all eyes are on the state’s Finance Minister who is known to juggle numbers deftly and the biggest challenges is that of revenue generation, among others.
Kerala budget will be a common man’s budget and also a women-friendly Budget, says FM Thomas Issac to media persons.

Meanwhile, experts in the state indicate that based on Thomas Issac’s recent comments, he is likely to stay focused on fiscal prudence and austerity measures. Interestingly, Kerala Budget 2018 will be the second full Budget to be presented before March 31st in the state. The objective is to give the departments enough time to spend the allocation and utilise it in project implementation.
A ray of hope for rubber producers in the state – on Wednesday, Dr Thomas Issac had hinted at rubber products being exempted from e-way bill within the state but also declined to divulge more details. He said the details of exemption will be tabled during the Budget session.
