With new position comes new responsibility. So it is for the new Justice Chief of Kerala.
Acting Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court, Antony Dominic, was on Friday sworn in as the Chief Justice of Kerala.
Kerala Governor P. Sadasivam administered the Oath of Office in the presence of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at Raj Bhavan. The swearing-in ceremony was solemn and brief. Chief Secretary Paul Antony read out the Presidential order appointing Justice Dominic as the Chief Justice.
A galaxy of senior High Court judges, judicial officers, cabinet ministers, political leader and ranking police officers filled the audience.

Justice Dominic, a native of Ponkunnam near Kanjirapally in Kottayam district, is the first Keralite to occupy the top post in 17 years. Justice K.K.Usha occupied the chair in 2001.
Justice Dominic did his law at SDM Law College, Mangalore. He started legal practice as a lawyer in the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court in Kanjirapally in 1981. Subsequently, he shifted to the Kerala High Court in 1986. Justice Dominic became an additional judge of the Kerala High Court in 2007. Within a year, he was elevated as permanent judge of the High Court, Kerala.
Justice Dominic is a member of the Karikattukunnel House, Ponkunnam. His wife Riny is an educationist. They have two children — son Dominic Antony is a lawyer and daughter Maria Antony is pursuing a college education.
