Ampati, Meghalaya Election Result Out

Ampati is one of the 60 Assembly seats in Meghalaya. Ampati is located in the South West Garo Hills district and Garo Hills region of Meghalaya.

Congress candidate and daughter of former chief minister Mukul Sangma, Miani D Shira won the Ampati seat by defeating his nearest rival from the ruling alliance. Congress – with 21 seats – now is a single largest party in Meghalaya.

After the second round of counting, Congress candidate got 5282 votes while NPP candidate bagged 4854 votes. Independent candidate S Koch polled 190 votes only.
