Bollywood is having a splendid 2018. We’re not even at the half-year mark yet, and we already have a bunch of blockbusters, headlined by Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. Even though Salman ‘Bhai’ Khan’s Race 3 has been unanimously panned and become a laughing stock, has still broken the 100-crore mark inside the opening weekend.
Compare this to the same time from last year (till June 30, 2017) – Bollywood had produced only 4 films with box office collections exceeding Rs 150 crore. They were Raees (Rs 308.8 crore), Jolly LLB 2 (Rs 307.29 crore), Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya (Rs 200 crore) and Hrithik Roshan-starrer Kaabil (Rs 176 crore).
These are the movies which crossed 100 Crore mark in the year 2018:
Padmaavat – 585 Cr.
Baaghi 2 – 253.18 Cr.
Raazi – 189.55 Cr.
