Seven persons were detained by the Punjab police on Friday in connection with a drug supply network that operated out of Delhi and Agra. The arrests came from various places. Along with cash totaling Rs. 2.20 lakhs, the officials also found medicines, capsules, and injections worth at Rs. 3.24 lakhs.

Ambala, Haryana: Gaurav Singh, also known as Kala, the chief drug smuggler, was taken into custody. In pursuit of leads regarding the narcotics network, the police squad had made the trip to Haryana.

An important member of the nexus, Sumit Agrawal, the proprietor of Paksons Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. in Delhi, was detained by the authorities after they searched the business. They seized unlabeled vaccinations valued at Rs. 6 lakhs from the pharmaceutical company that has locations in Bahadurgarh, Haryana, and Rohini, Delhi.

Several illegal commercial activities were found by the documents recovered during this raid, which led to more arrests, according to officials. The network of the company is currently being investigated in multiple states.

According to Delhi-based medical supplier R K Arora, Agra is well-known in the pharmaceutical industry for being a center for illegal drug trafficking. Delhi, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Bihar, and even Bangladesh receive the distribution of these medications. The illegal trade is still thriving, he claimed, despite multiple arrests linked to this enterprise in the past.

The police are working closely with teams from other states to end the illegal drug trade in Agra, which is damaging the district’s reputation, according to a senior Agra police official.

The authority claims that the Agra regions of Sikandra, Itmad Ud Daulah, and Jagdishpura are home to a large number of illicit warehouses. But the bulk of trades are made in the Fawwara drug market, where buyers and traffickers get together to make agreements before picking up the drugs from the warehouses.

In an effort to eradicate these traffickers from the city, the authorities are now concentrating their efforts on them.
