IUML Leader Attends CM’s Nava Kerala Sadas Amid Boycott; Unveiling Discourse and CM’s Reception.

In the aftermath of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s attempts to create a divide between the Congress and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) regarding the Nava Kerala Sadas boycott, IUML senior leader N. A. Aboobacker attended the meeting in Kasaragod on Sunday. His presence stirred speculation among political reporters in the capital.

During a press conference, a Thiruvananthapuram TV reporter questioned the Chief Minister about IUML members attending the event despite opposition boycott. Another reporter inquired about internal conflicts within the IUML over the boycott. Pinarayi Vijayan capitalized on these questions, emphasizing the unity of people despite political differences.

Addressing the situation, the Chief Minister highlighted the mental conflict faced by MLAs staying away from the Sadas, expressing empathy for their predicament. He mentioned the case of N. A. Nellikkunnu, a Muslim League MLA from Kasaragod, whose family members questioned his absence.

Pinarayi Vijayan suggested that Congress and UDF MLAs were suffering due to the Congress leadership’s decision to boycott Nava Kerala Sadas. Nellikkunnu, contacted for comment, clarified that despite his good personal relationship with the Chief Minister, his party and Front’s decision to boycott superseded personal connections. He noted attempts by a reporter to elicit a quote in favor of the Sadas but emphasized his commitment to the party’s decision.
