Kerala Style Fish Mango Curry Recipe

Fish Mango Curry Recipe:

Ingredients:
– 500g fish fillets (cut into pieces)
– 1 ripe mango (peeled and diced)
– 1 onion (finely chopped)
– 2 tomatoes (chopped)
– 1/2 cup coconut milk
– 2 green chilies (slit)
– 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
– 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
– 1 teaspoon red chili powder
– 1 teaspoon coriander powder
– 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
– 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
– 2 tablespoons oil
– Curry leaves
– Salt to taste
– Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

1. Marinate the fish pieces with turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes.

2. In a pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and curry leaves. Allow them to splutter.

3. Add chopped onions and sauté until they become translucent.

4. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Sauté for another 2 minutes until the raw smell disappears.

5. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.

6. Stir in turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder. Cook the masala until the oil separates from it.

7. Add diced mango pieces and cook for 2-3 minutes.

8. Pour in coconut milk and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

9. Gently add the marinated fish pieces to the curry. Be careful not to break the fish.

10. Cover the pan and let it simmer until the fish is cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.

11. Adjust salt and spice levels according to your taste.

12. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
