India strengthens allies with Russia to widen the fight against terrorism

To counter terrorism and narcotics trade India and Russia on Monday signed agreements during Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s Moscow visit. The agreement for cooperation in tackling all forms of terrorism was signed after he held wide-ranging talks with Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev in Moscow

The agreement on internal security is an updated and more comprehensive pact on cooperation on security. This provides a comprehensive approach for help in security-related issues, including cyber crimes, counterfeiting currency, illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, human trafficking, economic crime and crime related to intellectual property among others.

The joint action plan for countering the threat posed by narcotics will provide a legal framework for bilateral cooperation in this field.
