Rajasthan Bypolls: Latest Trends

Rajasthan went to bypolls for three seats on January 29. Two Lok Sabha seats Alwar, Ajmer and one assembly seat Mandalgarh.

All these seats are currently held by BJP and therefore it is a prestigious fight for BJP.

On the other hand, Congress did a spirited campaign under Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gahlot on all these three seats.

Election to these seats is considered as semifinal to the Assembly election in Rajasthan which will most probably take place on December 1, 2018.

As per the latest trends, Congress is leading in Ajmer and Alwar seats.

Ajmer 63.80% Votes Counted (INC – 403853, BJP – 323649) Lead -80204
Alwar 82.44% Votes Counted (INC – 520434 , BJP – 375520) Lead – 144914
Mandalgarh – Indian National Congress has won.

In Mandalgarh seat INC’s Vivek Dakar defeated BJP’s Shakti Singh Hada by a margin of more than 12,000+ votes.
