Congress Leader DK Shivakumar says he “Swallowed Bitterness” to make Govt with JD(S)

The Karnataka government to be formed is already looking very shaky. Hours after Amit shah had predicted fissures in the Congress – JD(S) relation and H D Kumaraswamy’s embarrassing submission that he didn’t become CM by peoples mandate, Congress Leader D.K Shivakumar has said that he had to swallow some ‘bitterness’ to join hands with JD(S). He said he had fought many battles against  H.D Devagowda and his kin.

Shivakumar said “I had lost to the senior Gowda in parliament election. Won against his son and his daughter-in-law. Lot of politics had been played. Lot of cases I faced, but in the interest of the party and nation, we have to bring a secular government here. It was Rahul Gandhi’s decision… That is why we have taken this stand and I have to swallow all this bitterness. It was my duty “

When faced with the question whether he was happy on making an alliance with JD(S), Shivakumar said at that point Individuality doesn’t count and collective decisions matter. He also seemed skeptical about the government formed by Congress and JD(S) and said he doesn’t want to answer it now “Time will answer. I don’t want to answer it right now. We have various issues, options before us, I can’t tell right now, ” said the man who is believed to be the one who pulled all the strings from behind the curtain during the dramatic hours in Karnataka. He also hinted that JD(S) is a precursor to the alliance between like minded parties in the run up to Lok Sabha elections.
