Kumaraswamy Says He Didn’t Want to Become CM through Political Moves

The will of common man was subverted in Karnataka as the party that emerged with highest number of seats, BJP, couldn’t make the government and the party with least number of seats is going to lead the state. Karnatakas new Chief minister-elect H.D Kumaraswamy, apparently wasn’t hiding his embarrassment about the situation. He said he wanted to be the king of the state through the mandate of the people and not through political moves.

In an interview he gave to Economic Times, Kumaraswamy recollected that the first time he became CM, back in 2006 was also due to political reasons and not because of the blessings of the people. He said he is feeling terrible knowing that the people of Karnataka doesn’t believe in him. Confessing to be an emotional person, the proposed CM of Karnataka said he knows what are the solutions of people’s problems and that he is expected to bring them in. ‘People have seen both BJP and Congress, I thought they will give me a chance, but JD(S) got lesser seats than last time” lamented the leader.

He said that he didn’t ask for the chief minister position but Congress had volunteered to give it to him. The leader also had some words of advice for Rahul Gandhi. He said Rahul Gandhi should work in such a way that people will support and praise him. When faced with question of how the coalition with such bitterness can go smoothly, he said that even though Congress and JD(S) have mounted allegation on each other, time has come for all opposition parties to unite against BJP
