Iraq under the leadership of Haider al-Abadi has long been accused of maintaining a soft stance towards ISIS terrorists. But a recent incident has changed that perception of Iraq and its government run by PM Haider al-Abadi.
On the order of PM, Iraq sentenced 12 terrorists to death which was executed on Thursday. The mode of execution is still not classified though usually, terrorism-related activities get death by hanging in Iraq.

Judicial sources’ information till the month of April identified death sentences of more than 300 people which included 100 foreign women solely for the crime of taking ISIS membership. Hundreds of others were condemned to life imprisonment.
Iraqi PM had ordered strict and ‘immediate’ action on ISIS terrorists and exhorted to the security forces to take ‘forceful revenge’ against the terrorist cells.
Iraq had declared a complete victory over ISIS in December after their decimation of the terrorist organization in major towns and cities.
Country’s military is still on their mission to quell the ISIS activities in
remote desert areas.
