Violent Clash at CUSAT Hostel Leaves 4 KSU Activists Injured in Confrontation with SFI

A tumultuous altercation erupted at Sahara Hostel in Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) on Saturday, pitting activists from Kerala Students Union (KSU) against Student Federation of India (SFI) members. In the aftermath of the clash, four KSU members suffered injuries, with one student sustaining an eye injury.

The incident unfolded amidst the celebration of KSU’s recent victory in the hostel union polls. Shedding light on the legal repercussions, the Kalamassery police have initiated a case against 14 SFI activists. The charges encompass a range of offenses, including attempted murder and the use of deadly weapons.

“The situation escalated rapidly, and we are deeply concerned about the safety of our members,” remarked a KSU spokesperson, highlighting the gravity of the incident. Investigations are underway to unravel the complexities of the clash and determine the events leading up to the violent episode.
