Assam is the Indian state where there were 5620 wild elephants according to 2011
census.The highest in the country. But the circumstances which have made India top the listĀ of elephant fatality by trains will surely snap the title from Assam sooner or later
.Recently, four wild elephants have been killed by a Guwahati-Silchar passenger train
while the herd was crossing the track. This adds to a plethora of incidents happening
across the country which have been affecting the lives of pachyderms. interestingly Bholu: an elephant calf, is the mascot of Indian Railways. Its high time we implemented a system to save our Bholus from speeding trains.

The North East Frontier railway to which Assam belongs has implemented an experimental
system which amplifies the buzz of bees to scare elephants away.
