With the latest arrest of two more, total persons arrested in the SFI activist Abhimanyu murder case reached 5. Earlier the police had arrested 3 which include Bilal, Farooq, and Riyaz. Riyaz is 37 years old and not a student either! Khalid and Sanad were arrested later. The vehicles used by the criminals- a Maruti Alto 800 car and 8 bikes-were seized by the police, as in these vehicles they reached college to commit the murder. The investigation is going on with the added evidence from the CCTV clips, forensic officials and other scientific evidence.

Police squads have been divided to cover different places including Kothamangalam and Nettoor.In the police investigation, it has been found out that the conspiracy of the crime happened in an old roof-tiled house situated behind Malabar Kitchen Hotel in Ernakulam North. The neighbors testified to the police that many people came there following which the police raided the house and collected the pieces of evidence. About 25 people are thought to be involved in the crime of which the mastermind was third-year Arabic student Muhammed in Maharajas College.
As it’s an organized crime, the perpetrators are expected to have left Cochin. So the police have extended their search beyond Kerala too.
