Mohanlal had found himself in a troublesome situation recently, after Association of Malayalam Movie Artist’s(AMMA) was heavily criticised for its double stand on actress abduction case and Mohanlal had to take the bulk of the blame as he is the president of the organization.
Following the incident, there was a petition signed by over 100 people submitted to the chief minister requesting not to invite Mohanlal for the State Award distribution Function. Well, Mohanlal did attend the function today and has chosen to respond to all the controversies in the function, in a subtle manner.

“I don’t need anyone’s permission to come to a function and meet my co-workers. I have the right to be at places related to Cinema. Am not a chief guest, I came to a function where my colleagues came together. I am here to stay” said the south Indian superstar.
Despite all the dissenting voices, the state Government had held it firm that Mohanlal will be invited for the function.
