Orxa Mantis electric bike launched in India: Price, features

Mumbai: Orxa Energies has launched the Mantis electric motorcycle in India. The bike is offered in a single variant is priced at Rs 3.6 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Bookings for the Orxa Mantis are open now, with Rs 10,000 for the first thousand customers post which the booking amount will be pushed to Rs 25,000. Deliveries for the Mantis  will begin April next year.

Powering the Orxa Mantis is a 27.8bhp electric motor. This engine generates 28 bhp of power  and 93 Nm of torque.  The bike has  a top speed of 135kmph. It can accelerate  from  0 to 100kmph in  8.9 seconds. The motor is liquid-cooled , marking the first production electric motorcycle to use this tech in India. The battery is a 8.9kWh unit which gives the Mantis a claimed IDC range of 221km on a single charge.

Orxa Mantis comes with a 5-inch digital instrument console that runs on a Linux-based Orxa operating system. The bike features a twin-projector LED headlamp with LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights and turn indicators.

The Mantis is equipped with a 41 mm telescopic fork and a mono-shock at the rear. Braking is handled by 320 mm front and 230 mm discs at the front and rear, respectively supported by single-channel ABS.
