Mumbai: Japanese automaker, Toyota is all set to expand its Hilux lineup. It has introduced the Hilux Hybrid 48V in the global market. The hybrid pickup truck will go on sale in mid-2024 for buyers in Europe. Toyota is yet to announce whether the hybrid version will be coming to the Indian market or not.
The vehicle comes with a diesel engine mated to a compact motor generator, driven by a belt system that will charge the new 48V lithium battery. It is small enough to be installed under the rear seats and helps to minimise the impact on cabin space and weighs just 7.6 kg. It generates 16 bhp of power and 65 Nm torque.

The new Hilux Hybrid 48V also gets six driving modes including Dirt, Mud, Rock, Sand, Deep Snow, or Automatic.
