Toyota launches new Innova Touring Sport with six-speed transmission in India

Toyota launched Innova Touring Sport last year with petrol and diesel engine in five-speed manual gearbox and six-speed automatic sequential shift. Now, the company has updated 2.4-litre diesel variant from five-speed manual transmission to a six-speed manual gearbox that comes equipped with intelligent Manual Technology (iMT).

The Innova Touring Sports diesel variant with the six-speed transmission is offered at a price of Rs 19.6 lakh,ex-showroom, Delhi.In addition, Touring Sport six-speed variant also gets an updated touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and an idle start/stop function. Apart from this, there are no changes in Touring Sport variant and it continues to carry same features such as black interiors with wood accents on the dashboard.

In addition, it gets features such as steering mounted controls, smart key and automatic climate control. At the exterior, the MPV with six-speed manual transmission gets a black grille with chrome finish, LED projector headlamps with LED DRL’s and 17-inch alloy wheels.The diesel manual variant also comes with the safety features such as ABS with EBD, three-airbags, brake assist, vehicle stability control and hill start.

Toyota Innova Touring Sport is powered by a two diesel engine and one petrol engine. The 2.7-litre petrol engine paired to a five-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift. The diesel variants come with the 2.4-litre engine is now mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, while the 2.8-litre engine is paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Toyota Kirloskar launched the new Innova and Fortuner last year and both the vehicles witnessed a high demand from the customers. Due to the rise in demand in the festive season of both the cars the current waiting period for Innova has gone up to around 2 months and the Fortuner is around 3 months. Due to GST cess, Toyota announced the price hike of Innova Crysta, Fortuner, Corolla and the Etios.
