2 Rohingya refugees arrested in Hyderabad

The Rachakonda commissionerate police on Sunday arrested two Rohingya refugees for getting Aadhaar Card made illegally.

The arrest was made in Balapur where a large chuck of refugees are settled after fleeing from violence-hit neighbouring country Myanmar since 2012.

According to the police, the two suspects arrested were identified as 19-year-old Mohammad Azamuddin alias Molla Azamuddin and Riyazuddin Molla who allegedly helped the former in getting the Indian citizenship unlawfully.

Both the accused have been produced before the court which sent them to judicial custody.
In September this year, Rachakonda Police sent back five refugees who were living in the city without valid documents proving their nationality or immigrants status.

Around 3000 to 4000 Rohingya refugees have made Hyderabad as their new home after deserting their own country.
