November 7th the D-day for Kamal Hassan to enter Politics?

The national award winning actor Kamal Hassan has been dropping hints to take the plunge into the pool of politics. He has asked his fans to get ready for the big reveal on the 7th of November, which is his birthday.

Writing in his weekly series in Tamil magazine ‘Ananda Vikatan’, the actor titled it this week as “Be prepared..will tell all on November 7”. Hassan said he will come out with a ‘communication strategy’ on the D-day. Hassan said those who wanted to do something for Tamil Nadu as a duty and not as a sacrifice are welcome to join him.

“I can see that a youth force is waiting to be coordinated. The requirement and duty for me to coordinate them has come. I am going to work out and announce a way of seamless communication with them on November 7.This will be not to interact, but will be one of training and workshops that will make plans,” he said.

The actor and director has been talking about cleaning up politics in Tamil Nadu, which is still battling political uncertainty after the death of chief minister and ruling AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa in December 2016.

Hassan has been critical of the AIADMK government and the Centre and expressed his views in the magazine and through Twitter. The actor has been vocal about many socio-political issues. He recently extended his support to the crew of Tamil movie ‘Mersal’ which had the BJP fuming at the GST reference scenes.

Kamal Hassan has already said “saffron is not his color”, ruling out possibility of him joining hands with the BJP, which is looking for a toehold in the southern state.

Haasan, who also made a mark in Hindi cinema, met Kerala chief minister and veteran CPI (M) leader Pinarayi Vijayan and declared, “Left leaders are my heroes.”

Earlier, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had met with Kamal Hassan on 21st September, setting off speculations of a new political alignment in the state where the former’s AAP hardly any presence.
