Health benefits of spicy food: Recent studies favors spice lovers

There are some previous studies which show that small amount of Capsaicin, the chemical which gives chili peppers pungent smell, enhanced the perception of food being salty. The study on the latter to check the capsaicin would reduce the salt consumption reports were out.
 
The researchers further tried to find links between spicy food and blood pressure. The study compared people who ate less spicy food to those who ate food high in spices. The spice lovers were shown to consume lesser salt and find out that have fewer chances of Blood Pressure.
 
While studying about brains of two categories of people, it was found that the areas that were stimulated by salt and spice overlapped and also that spice increased the brain activity in the areas which are otherwise activated by salt, so that people become sensitive to salt and relish food even when there is less of it.
 
So if you need to reduce salt consumption put some more spice in it. Even a gradual increase in spices in your food may have a health benefit.
