Rahul Gandhi breaks his silence on Congress’ defeat

The Gujarat elections have been a war zone for 2 parties. Today’s election result has shed light on who emerged victoriously.  Congress President Rahul Gandhi speaks his mind on the election results.

After remaining silent all morning, Congress President Rahul Gandhi has finally broken his silence in the defeat of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh by asking his party workers not to get demoralized. He even claimed that he isn’t disappointed with the loss. Reacting to the verdict in both Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, Gandhi stated that he was ‘satisfied, not disappointed.’

The assembly elections in the state have been no less than a war between the Congress and the ruling BJP. A common aspect of their election campaign was the fact that both the leaders addressed a number of rallies and visited many temples. It should come as no surprise since the BJP has (had) been in power in Gujarat since 1995. The Congress has been looking for a turnaround this time.

Going by the leads in Himachal Pradesh, BJP is inching towards a majority in the state with the Congress trailing behind. The state went to poll on November 9 in a single phase with the Congress and the BJP locking horns in 68 constituencies. Congress President Rahul Gandhi conducted only three rallies in the state, all in a single day.
