Famous photographer known for `towel series’ alleged with sexual misconduct by model

Remember the famous photographer, Mario Testino, who was in the country to shoot a special cover for Vogue India’s issue? Yes, the same issue starring Sushant Singh Rajput and famous supermodel, Kendall Jenner.

The same photographer even shot Katrina Kaif for his famous ‘towel series’ and we couldn’t stop raving about how hot she looked in that black and white picture. While we still adore the beauty and drool over her picture, recent stories have forced us to do a double take.

Photographer Mario Testino is the latest celeb who has been accused of sexual misconduct by the models that he has worked within the West. Many models have come forth with their horrid experiences and tales suggesting how the photographer made advances and would grope them unhesitatingly.

Mario is a world-renowned photographer and adored by many celebrities and even the younger members of the British royal family. The Times reported that he has been accused of groping and making sexual come-ons by all the models he has worked with in the past. These allegations aren’t recent.

One of the models recalled his horrid experience of working with him and was reported calling him as a “sexual predator. He told the Times that when he told other models he was going to meet Testino for a possible casting, “everyone would make these jokes they said he was notorious, and ‘tighten your belt. Going further he said,

“On the last day of a shoot, as they were taking photographs on a bed, Testino told everybody in the room to leave and locked the door. Then he crawls on the bed, climbs on top of me and says, ‘I’m the girl, you’re the boy. I went to him, like, you better get away. I threw the towel on him, put my clothes on and walked out.

Mario Testino’s former assistants, too, have voiced their concern on how it was routine and there was a significant pattern that he follows. According to the former assistant, he would hire young heterosexual men and make aggressive advances.

“Sexual harassment was a constant reality,” said Rowan Barrett, assistant to Testino in the late 1990s who said the photographer rubbed up against his leg with an erection and masturbated in front of him.
