Controversial death of Shailja Dwivedi,an Army Major’s wife;Extra marital affair gone haywire?

Shailja Dwivedi was killed, with her throat slit after which a vehicle was driven over her making it look like an accident. Major Dwivedi and Shailja got married nine years ago. A former “Mrs.Earth Creative” title winner, Shailja hailed from Amritsar and served as a lecturer at Guru Nanak Dev University for about 5 years. Educationally she was a top performer, holding “Double Masters with first division”.A wife and mother of 6 years old, she was one of the finalists of Mrs.India Peagent 2017 edition.

Once in an interview, Shailja said about her family as a complete one, “when you have a loving spouse, a naughty child and a bond between them which has threads of love, respect, and feelings for each other”.

But its sad, that the obsession and desperation of Major Nikhil Handa took away her life and her family’s happiness.

Shailja was killed by Major Nikhil Handa on Saturday and later Delhi Police arrested him from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. His arrest unfurled a confusing tale of obsession and love pointing towards a possibility of an extramarital affair gone haywire.

Reports say that Shailja and Nikhil Handa had known each other since her husband’s posting in Nagaland. Records of many call exchanges between both have also been uncovered by the police.

On a fateful day, Nikhil Handa called Shailja to meet at the Army Base Hospital where he had taken his son for treatment. Reports say that Shailja has also been undergoing a treatment there for ankle and doing physiotherapy.

From the examination of the CCTV footages, the police found out that Major Dwivedi’s wife arrived at the hospital at 10 AM and left there an hour later. Her body was later found at 1:30 PM at Brar Square near Delhi Cantonment Metro Station.

Possibly she was with Nikhil Handa in his car, and the latter when forced her to consummate their relationship through a marriage, she refused. Raged at the refusal, the Army Major killed her slitting throat and later ran over the body with his vehicle.
