The marathon rescue works are still ongoing in Kerala. The army, the locals, the fishermen and every good citizen is involved in it one way or the other. The news of certain people refusing to board helicopters had come up a few hours before, and the chief minister himself had to tell people to board it mustering all courage.
While even youngsters had problems in getting on a helicopter, this 99-year-old woman, Achamma Daniel cut a picture of courage when she boarded a helicopter with no discomfort.
It was by yesterday morning 09 30 that Achamma was rescued by Airforce. She was lifted after buckling her up with the belt and the air force officer took her in his arms to the helicopter. She was taken to Marthoma college safely. When asked about it she said she didn’t even know when the destination was reached.
