Acting US Defence Secretary Patrick Shanahan arrived in Baghdad today on an unannounced visit. He reached Iraq for talks on the issue of continued troop presence following withdrawal from neighbouring Syria.
He is due to hold talks with Prime Minister Adel Abdel Mahdi and top military advisers and commanders.
