IPL 2017: Mumbai Indians hits Top in Points Table, Beat Delhi by 14 Runs

Pacers Mitchell McClenaghan scalped three wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah took two as Mumbai Indians recorded their sixth win on the trot with a comfortable 14-run victory over Delhi Daredevils in an IPL match on Saturday.

Delhi Daredevils’ batting frailties were exposed once again in IPL.

After leg-spinner Mishra’s masterclass, MI discovered a match-winner in pacer Mitchell McGlenaghan (4-0-24-3). The New Zealander blew away the top half for 21 runs, none of the first six visiting batsmen reached two digits, resulting in a 14-run defeat in front of a roaring sea of blue.

The home side now have six wins after seven matches.

Sanju Samson (9), Karun Nair (5), Shreyas Iyer (6), Corey Anderson (0) and Rishabh Pant (0) went back in a procession, unable to make headway against the charged up Mumbai Indians attack.

Rabada’s defiant 44 delayed the defeat, DD’s fourth in six games.

However, at this stage Rabada and Chris Morris joined hands for a seventh-wicket partnership of 91 off 12.1 overs.

A stage when it looked like the match would turn in DD’s favour. But Rabada’s dismissal changed all that.
