Baahubali 2 sets world record:To be released in 9000 screens world wide

SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali 2 is all set to have biggest release ever an Indian film had.

It is set be released in 9000 screens world wide on Friday.

The Prabhas-starrer will have its world premiere at a grand event in Mumbai on Thursday, which will be attended by who’s who of Indian film industry.

Going by industry sources, the film releases in around 6500 screens in India. In USA, a key market for Telugu films, the second part in Baahubali franchise will open in 1100 screens. In rest of the world, the film will release in 1400 screens.
Considering its wide release, trade pundits believe the film is expected to take an earth shattering opening on the first day. Baahubali 2 is the third Indian film to release in IMAX format and as well in other large screen format. In USA, it is releasing in around 40 IMAX screens and the number is expected to go up as it inches closer to the release date.

Even within India, there’s unprecedented craze for the film, especially in Kerala where the first part of the franchise made a killing at the box-office. Trade pundits believe Baahubali 2: The Conclusion will easily mint around Rs 5 crore gross from the first day in the state. In Karnataka, too, the film is expected to rock at the box-office and is likely to supersede the collections of the first part in the franchise.
