Sharjah launched new app to report violations

Sharjah Municipality has launched ‘Oyoon Al Baladiyah’, meaning ‘Municipality eyes’, that encourages its employees to report violations they observe in the street or initiate legal procedures against the violators via WhatsApp.

Residents as well will be able to report violations they observe in the emirate when the municipality launches next year another app called ‘All of Us Municipality’.

The announcement was made by Thabit Al Turaifi, director-general of Sharjah Municipality, who stressed that the municipality follows an open-door policy in dealing with the media and public.

“The civic body is currently implementing a comprehensive strategy to improve the services provided by various departments”, he said.

Al Turaifi also stated that long-term parking lots will be available in a number of densely populated areas of Sharjah.

He stated that eco-friendly parking lots will be activated, whereby vehicles will be kept under the supervision of security guards in the parking lots throughout the day and will be kept clean and safe from accidents and bad weather. The fees of these parking lots would be similar to such spaces in airports in the UAE. There will also be shaded VIP parking lots.

Al Turaifi said the municipality is also working on other critical projects to improve the emirate.
