Abu Dhabi-Karachi flight evacuated after mid-air scare

Passengers of an Abu Dhabi-Karachi Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight were evacuated after their plane made a safe landing at the Peshawar airport.

The outer layer of the fuel tank on the plane’s left wing was swept away by winds while it was mid-air, reports The Express Tribune.

Civil Aviation officers at Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport were quoted as saying in the report that the flight PK-281 landed safely but its passengers were evacuated.

The head office had been conveyed about the matter and the equipment needed to fix the problem brought to the airport on flight PK-351, the officers said.

They added that the fuel tank had been replaced and the plane had been declared safe for flight.
