Hackers posted Indian national anthem on Pakistan website

The Pakistan government’s website ‘pakistan.gov.pk’ was hacked yesterday and unidentified hackers posted the Indian national anthem and Independence day wishes on the website.

While the website was non-functional for a while, the original content of the website was shortly restored. The official websites of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, Aligarh Muslim University, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi University website and the website of Banaras Hindu University were hacked in last April.

There was no official response from the Foreign Office in Islamabad and the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.

A group named “PHC” hacked the website and left behind the message: “Pakistan Zindabad” on the home pages of the websites. The hacker also claimed that the hacking was “in response to Code-Man’s hack of railways.gov.pk.”
