The Haryana police department has initiated the process of sanitising the Dera Sacha Sauda (DSS) headquarters in Sirsa.

It has been reported that some computers, hard drives and cash have been seized from the headquarters. The Punjab and Haryana High Court had ordered for the sanitization process after several weapons were recovered from the sect headquarters, apart from suspicious reports of murders at the Dera.

Security personnel and concerned officials have already entered the headquarters after the cleansing process began the early morning.

A curfew has been imposed in areas surrounding the DSS HQ and it will continue till the search operations continue.

It has been learnt that the security forces will also be assisted by bomb squad who will search the area for possible explosives and suspicious items.

The entire sanitization process will be video-graphed and overseen by retired District and Sessions Judge, A K S Pawar, who was appointed as court commissioner by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

The premise of the Dera, whose chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was jailed in the rape case, is spread over nearly 800 acres and houses educational institutions, markets, hospital, stadium, recreational areas and houses.
