Anna Rajan aka Lichi, who shot into fame as the heroine of Angamaly Diaries and Velipadinte Pusthakam, was full of tears on a Facebook live video posted on her page as she blamed the media for twisting her statement on Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan.
If you are wondering what the whole issue is, it all started in a TV show where the actor was asked if she was offered roles with Mammootty and son Dulquer Salmaan in a film, whom would she choose as her hero? To this Anna said she would like to play Dulquer Salmaan’s heroine and Mammootty would play Dulquer’s dad.
Now this irked the fans of the veteran superstar, who is more than 40 years older to her, and they started showering angry comments at the hapless heroine. And she came on Facebook live to explain to the fans of the two heroes that she would like to play the heroine of both Mammootty and Dulquer and that she hasn’t reached the position yet to compare the two stars.
Anna also revealed that she was approached to star in a Mammootty film even before signing Mohanlal’s Velipadinte Pusthakam, but it got postponed due to some issues.

Actress Rima Kallingal, who defended Anna by stating that Mammootty can rock even in father roles, posted on her Facebook page:
“Lichi was trolled for saying a 65 year old actor could play her fathers role? Why?? These people don’t think Mammootty can carry that role? I think he can rock it.. like a boss.. remember Kouravar? I think he is a super brilliant actor and we will accept him playing a 70 year old or a 30 year old just like we will accept super brilliant actors like Shobhana, Urvashi and Revathy playing 70 year olds or 30 year olds… alle? How absolutely non-hypocritical, non-sexist, non-ageist lovely beings we are. Who is ruining our name by trolling lichi? What is the problem here? And why and what is Lichi apologising for? “
